We understand that a lot of the technical specifications can be confusing so we have built this support page to answer many of the questions you may have. Whether supplying files for print or uploading to our FTP server all the information you need can be found right here or you can call us on +44(0)208 395 0461.

Supplying Pictures, Files or Artwork to Us
When you need to supply us with a file it's best to bear in mind the following. When choosing images for video or print try not to just drag them off a web page. Aside from the copyright issues it is highly likely they will be of very low resolution and look bad when displayed. Try to find the highest resolution file you can, the bigger it looks at 100% on your screen, the higher resolution it is. Resolution is measured in DPI (dots per Inch) and for High Definition video and print 300dpi is required, for standard definition video it is 72dpi. Logos are best sent as EPS or Illustrator files, these files contain vector data (or lines to the rest of us) which describe the logo in a high resolution format regardless of how big or small we make them.
Files can be emailed to our high capaity mailbox - artwork@topazdigitalmedia.com or uploaded to our FTP Server, details below.

File Types and Dimensions
We can accept any file type, the most populat are jpeg, tiff, eps, psd, ill and png. You don't need to understand what they mean, we'll fix all of that for you! Images for Standard definition video should be 720 pixels wide x 576 pixels high.

Video & Video Formats
Video can be supplied to us on any format, XDCam, Digibeta, BetaSP, DVCam, MiniDV or DVD to name but a few and standard or high definition are not a problem. Video shot on mobile phones, hard drive or DVD camcorders will need to be digitised in a specific way so please call us if this is your aquisition model. Also please bear in mind that DVDs are a delivery format and therefore very heavily compressed. Video that comes off DVD suffers a significant quality loss so we reccomend using the original footage the DVD was created from if possible.

Our Client Zone
Topaz run a project management system which can be accessed through the Client Zone link above. All projects we work on automatically are added to the system and you will be provided with a username and password at the projects start. The Client Zone allows you to track your project, share files and add key dates and to do lists. Should you require any assistance with the system please give us a call.

Topaz FTP Server
Sometimes files can be way too big to email, when this is the case you need to upload it to an FTP Server. FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol, which sounds really complicated - but in reality - it's just one big shared hard disk. To access our FTP server you will need an FTP client program such as Cyberduck (for mac) or SmartFTP for windows. Once downloaded send us a mail and we'll send you all the access information you need right back!
